Restaurant Giannino is located in Rovinj, and with it's rustic elegance completely fits in the image of the place. The original idea was that the restaurant would be called The Maze - because the space is reminiscent of a complex cave system which could use the help of Adrijana's thread.
It was opened in the year 1982. Since the beginning it is in the ownership of the family Pellizzer, and the skilled hands of one of best and most imaginative chefs, Mr. Corado Pellizzer, turned it into one of the best known restaurants in the town of Rovinj.
Giannino is one of the most important toponyms of Istrian and Rovinj's culture of eating. That it is so is confirmed by the multitude of gourmands returning to the restaurant again and again.
This is a fish restaurant without a permanent menu, as the offer depends on what the fishermen catch that morning. Three Rovinj fishermen go fishing every night especially for Giannini. Catch varies from lobsters and gilt-head breams to the sea bass and sole fish. Before meals the staff will serve domestic aperitif of sparkling wine with fruit.
Besides gourmand enjoying of food, special care is dedicated to wine, and you can always get useful instructions about the wines from the owners.
Among eighty kinds of wine, which are on offer in the restaurant, we have certain archival Italian and local wines, which complement the pleasures of dinning.
